So here I am. I haven't written here since March it seems. So much has come and gone and continued on (aren't I clever?). I've started Theatre VCU and been in class for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I've met many many wonderful people, especially Lucian, who is quite the fat-ass.

My FDP play is called Lives in the Wind and it's a short, ten minute summary of the history of the United States from the Civil War onward played by an ensemble cast. I die twice. It's badass. I do have rehearsal from 6 to 8pm tomorrow (today?) which is sort of a nasty way to spend a Friday night but whatever. I'll survive.

OK. It's late. I have an English paper to finish so I must be on my merry way.

So. I just learned that my blood type is A-

Only 6% of the population has said type and I thought that was interesting. Also, only people with A- and O- blood can give blood to me; these two types combined only amount to about 13% of the population.
This is troubling.
So comment what your blood types are so in case I develop acute hemophilia, I know who to hang around.

I've been out of Virginia not 24 hours and have already met a Creationist.

Looks like we're not in Kansas anymore.

Seriously.
Kill me now.

After two seven hour bus rides, Times Square four times, Hard Rock Cafe (Teh Suck), Forbidden Broadway, The MoMA, L. Ron Hubbard's Science Fiction Paradise, Bubba Gump's Shrimp (Teh Suck 2), The Color Purple, fourteen Starbucks' (all within a block of each other), Nyoh my God, and hand turkeys (among other things), I am back from New York City.

You can get the general idea: I had a great time. One part though, stands out.

Three of us before dinner one night decided to drop by the Church of Scientology to have a look see. We stood outside for about 90 seconds before someone noticed us reading the signs about Dianetics. We were invited in to watch a short informational film about Dianetics. We went in and were told to wait in a corridor filled with informational videos and posters while waiting for the next screening. We saw a number of fascinating things, including many Volcanoes and the very interesting Tone Scale. Two more potential Scientologists dropped by and they started the film. We filed into a room filled with way too many chairs (as if forty people at a time will watch their informational video) and saw the movie (here is an actual part of it). If you didn't watch it, here is a general idea. Take Freud's concept of the "id" and rename it with "engram." Thats Dianetics. The whole movie and subsequent presentation came off as a self-help program, avoiding words like "church" and "religion." After the film was finished, the woman in the room asked if there were any questions. We asked several such as "How did Hubbard do his research?" and "This is very similar to Freud, where does Dianetics differ from conventional psychiatry?" Had we more time, the questions would have never ended but we were already late for dinner so we had to part.

The general idea of Scientology, atl east the Scientology they presented, was that they are trying to cure the human race. They are trying to get rid of the whole system of human nature. Oh yeah, and for only fifty dollars, you can have a whole day of Auditing!

Overall, the experience left me with many more questions than answers and more fear towards the "religion."

School has once again started with mixed results. On one level, I had a decent week, nothing bad happened at school, in fact, school was good; however, it is the thing to come that is scaring me:
Our history term paper/ thesis. The topic is due Monday and I do not want to deal with it again, especially after last year's.

All in all it was a good, but long, week. I got very good news soon after school started that made my life a hell of a lot better. Also, today, my computer returned from the dead (Dell's Repair Centre in Memphis) and is being as sexy as ever.

And yet, my life is still a rollercoaster. For some reason, I've been screwy lately and I cannot figure out why. Oh well I suppose sometimes nothing can be perfect.

But...
I've no reason to be sad or depressed or whatever you want to call it.

Meh.

Oh well.

C'est la vie.

There are very few times in my life where every aspect of my life is in balance and this is one of those times. I had almost forgotten what it felt like as, for the longest while, my life was a roller coaster that wouldn't let me off despite having thrown up several times.
